our only refuge

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” -Psalm 46:1

In our 20 years of work in China, we have met thousands of refugees. A vast majority carry a great deal of trauma from their past and present situations. Beyond addressing their most pressing needs, our desire is for every refugee we encounter to find their refuge and strength in God (Psalm 46:1).

This is the heart of our work. It is a blessing to help help refugees in need. It gives us greater joy to take part in fanning the faith of many refugees who decide to follow Christ.

Our goal this Giving Tuesday is to raise $45,000 to help North Koreans refugees in need. Every encounter with North Korean refugees gives us opportunities to introduce them to the love of God. Would you consider a one-time or monthly donation?

Jesus is OUR Only Refuge

In the thousands of interactions we've had with North Korean refugees in China and South Korea this year, we’ve taken every opportunity to point them to the hope of Jesus, which does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). This year, God allowed us to engage refugees through visits to senior centers and prisons, our women’s shelter, community classes, health clinics, church services, and retreats.

Housing those in dire need, providing financial assistance, guiding them to receive proper health and emotional care are all very, very helpful. Empowering refugees through community classes and proclaiming the hope of the gospel have given strength to the weary. But only the love of Jesus can comfort and heal their wounds. We come back to this truth time and time again: Jesus is truly our only refuge.

your support will provide loving help to North Korean refugees who need god’s refuge

Giving Tuesday is on November 28, 2023.

You can support our “Our Only Refuge” initiative from now until Monday, December 4.
